About RUBBER Background
Asia is the main source of natural rubber, accounting for around 94% of output in 2005. Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are the three largest producing countries and together account for around 72% of all natural rubber production.Natural rubber is and will stay as an important export product for Indonesia. The country is the second largest producer of natural rubber in the world after Thailand.Rubber produced in Indonesia is mainly exported directly to industrial countries or transshipped through Singapore, and most of it is used in the production of tires.

Indonesia has a population of 240m people. Close to 70% of GDP is driven by consumer demand.
